Asktyx ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a data subject under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

2. What data we collect

When you register for Asktyx or use our service, we may collect:

  • Account information — your name, company name, email address, and billing details.
  • Usage data — log files, IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited, for security and service improvement.
  • Financial data — the accounting records you enter into Asktyx (invoices, journals, bank transactions, etc.). This data is yours and is stored in your isolated private database.
  • Communications — emails and support messages you send to us.

3. How we use your data

We use the data we collect to:

  • Provision, maintain, and improve the Asktyx service.
  • Process billing and send invoices.
  • Respond to support requests.
  • Send product updates and security notices (you may opt out of marketing emails at any time).
  • Detect and prevent fraud and abuse.

4. Data isolation and security

Every Asktyx tenant runs on an isolated MySQL database. Your financial data is never commingled with another customer's data. All connections are encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher. Two-factor authentication is enforced for all user accounts. We maintain audit logs of all financial changes.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with trusted third-party service providers (such as cloud hosting and payment processors) solely to operate the Asktyx service, under contractual data protection obligations. We may also disclose data if required by law.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel, your data is retained for 30 days to allow recovery, and is then permanently deleted. You may request earlier deletion by contacting us at privacy@asktyx.com.

7. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, restrict, or delete your personal data. You also have the right to data portability and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@asktyx.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

8. Cookies

The Asktyx application uses a single session cookie to maintain your login state. No third-party advertising or tracking cookies are used within the application. Our public marketing website may use analytics cookies; you may opt out via your browser settings.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify active customers by email and update the "Last updated" date above.
